I will be showing pictures of me walking in 1981, the first time I had learned to walk again. I was an out-patient at the R. I. C. at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago. But this time I have to do it all myself. I have been building the muscles in my lower and upper body. I drive a car and I do not use hand controls. That helps keep my legs in good shape. I lift weights and spend a lot of time pushing my wheelchair everyday. I have a light-weight chair and it fits right in my car. When I have to get the chair out of the car I just ask the first person that I see; "Can you help me get my wheelchair out of my car?" People always help. I can go any place I want - this is a good way to stay in shape. To me walking is a way of getting from one place to another or x to y. I don't care what I will look like when I walk. But I'll have a way of walking that looks real cool; that's important. You don't want to look like you are sick. When I enter a room everyone looks. I like when people ask me questions; and now I tell everyone to go to my web site - the pictures will tell it all. I will be adding pictures of me taking my first steps out of the wheel chair. I have many stories to tell.

Later, Jake
